From an email to my friends in June 2010:

On Friday, I answered this craigslist ad:

'Drummer needed for Saturday Session (Boulder)'
DW kit all mic'd up and ready to go. Music is all original. Think Mogwai, Radiohead, The Mars Volta, Pink Floyd, etc.

So, I emailed, and went on Saturday. At 5pm I biked to a large industrial building in the far, far east of Boulder. Upon arrival, it was apparent it was no session. It was 'two guys looking to start an improv project.'

And why not? By 12:30am, we'd played 5 'jams', each around 15 minutes each, with a good 20-30 minute break between them. There were also a lot of intoxicants.

The video is our first jam, along with the 5-7 people hanging out along with the 'band'. I share because regardless of anything else, it is pretty much the purest, most meditative thing I've done in the last few months, and it was real.

I edited some of the jams into these 3 songs here.

I forgot their names but it was amazing.
